Vintage Finds with Doen Vibes: Pascual Jacket
I have to admit, I’ve been at a bit of a moral dilemma. As someone who loves fashion, that often comes with an element of consumerism, which can feel icky - especially when the average American is pinching pennies now more than ever. How do I continue to express myself with clothing, and help others do the same, when over-consumption is such an issue? It’s not just something I love sharing with others, I love how fashion is a creative outlet, I love how fashion is so reflective of the world we live in, I love understanding trends, their origins, and why certain silhouettes and styles are so cyclical.
Now that I’ve gone all existential, let’s get back to the fun. I’ve noticed an uptick of visitors on last years post about Vintage Finds with Doen Vibes and thought it was a great way to jump back in. We can still express ourselves when we’re on a budget - and honestly, it’s a little more satisfying when you work for it anyway. Let’s dive in!
pascual jacket
The Pascual Jacket comes in five (5) color-ways, but the elements that make this such a classic look are the contrasting (corduroy) collar and relaxed, worn in shape.
To search for similar pieces on Etsy, eBay, and other resale sites, use these keywords: vintage barn coat, vintage chore coat, 1940s style barn coat, french workwear, 1960s style work jacket.
Brands you’ll often find in these searches:
LL Bean, St Johns Bay,, Lands End, Eddie Bauer, etc.
Searching for “60s” or “french” will likely give you results without the contrasting collar, but WILL get you the collar shape we’re looking for. Similarly, you can check out the Sezane Will Jacket for a new, and more budget friendly (starting at $145) style.
I’ve curated a few of my favorites currently listed on Etsy for $100 or less! Click each image to shop.
